As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of “Race the Joe” we have been selected as the site of the World Championships! \nThe festivities begin on Friday\, May 27 at 6pm in Downtown St. Maries. This not to be missed event is a great opportunity to check out these spectacular racing machines\, meet the drivers that operate them at high speeds through the twists and turns of the Shadowy St Joe\, and pick up the latest versions of the highly coveted “Race the Joe” apparel and drinkware.  \nSaturday morning\, the races begin at IFI Landing speeding up towards Calder\, and going up and down the river throughout the day. DESCRIPTION:Annual s.m.ART Festival \nThe festival is being held the third weekend in July at Cherry Bend Boat Park on the St Joe River. Featured will be Art\, Artist Demonstrations\, Music\, Artist’s Booths\, Children’s Adventure\, and much more! \nThe festival is “Celebrating the World” of art\, music\, cuisine and drink. Regional and local performers provide free concerts throughout the weekend. A juried show\, silent auction\, clothesline art sales and over 50 art and craft vendors are featured. A hands-on adult assisted creative experience for children 4-12 takes place each day from 10am to 2pm. There is a minimal fee and materials will be provided. Art booths will be open from 9am to 6pm on Saturday and from 9am to 5pm on Sunday featuring: Pottery\, photography\, stained glass\, fused glass\, jewelry\, paintings\, drawings\, and metal sculptures\, mosaic\, furniture\, cement sculptures\, rug\, leather. \nBreakfast by the Kiwanis starts at 7:30am on Saturday and Sunday. Lunch by the Junior Show starts at noon on Saturday and Sunday. There are docks in case you would like to arrive by boat and plenty of vehicle parking. \nThe s.m.ART Festival is held annually in St. Maries during the third weekend of July\, a busy weekend in St. Maries\, so volunteers are spread thin.
